Nature has gifted the mankind with numerous things, medicines from the plant sources which are the wonders of nature. Man has not exploited it in a right way. Man's quest for finding his own answers, the wisdom was neglected and has only recently accepted as a safe alternative to synthetic drugs whose side effects are causing increasing disillusionment with that stream of synthetic medicine.

The ancient systems of herbal medicines have some drawbacks. viz. lack of analytical parameters, non standardisation, lack of quality control, lack of process equipment & unhygienic processes. Man has recognised his shortfalls, and has developed accurate analytical instruments, efficient process equipment for hygienic and efficient extraction & has established standards of quality.
